概要

近年，コンピュータネットワークを通じた各種情報源へのアクセスが容易となるに従い，異種情報源の統合利用が重要な課題となっている．我々は，構造化文書リポジトリ，Web，リレーショナルデータベースを対象とした異種情報源統合利用環境の研究開発を行なっている．また，これらの統合利用のためのデータモデルとして，WebNR/SDを提案している．本稿では，本環境における視覚的ユーザインタフェースの設計について述べる．本視覚的ユーザインタフェースの特徴は次の通りである． (1)メタデータ/データに対するブラウジングと問合せを融合した対話的情報探査． (2)異種・複雑なデータ構造を持つデータを対象とした視覚的問合せ言語．さらに本稿では，視覚的問合せ言語で記述された問合せからWebNR/SD代数式への変換についても説明する．

Abstract

Today, a huge number of information sources are available via computer networks. Thus, integration of heterogeneous information sources has been one of the most important issues in recent advanced application environments. We are developing an information integration system for structured document repositories, Web, and relational databases. In this paper, we explain a graphical user interface (GUI) for the integration system. Features of the GUI are as follows: (1) Interactive information exploration facilities which combine browsing and querying of both metadata and data. (2) A visual query language to manipulate various complicated data structures in structured documents and Web such as nesting structures and hypertext linking structures.
